Help Concerning War Pension for BR

Well, with a bit of luck your chat with the debt charity on Monday might help.
It depends on the advisor you speak to, but some will be quite clued up on the property side.
Plus if this thread is kept visible on the first page of the forum then you never know what help may turn up.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Hi and thanks again fermi
yes, hopefully after some advice from the debt charity it may clarify a few points re the house. It's getting to the point where I just want this nightmare to end, everything seems so complicated. I am de-registering from VAT, making my ltd company dormant (costs too much to close it down) putting my son as director and daughter as company secretary as obviously myself and my wife as directors and company secretary have to stand down before BR. It's all taking so long to do and time isn't exactly on my side! HMRC are so slow, it will be weeks before they dergister us from VAT, we have so much paperwork to do first. Pity we didn't realise all this sooner! Oh well, onwards and upwards.0 -
Tell me about it!
The people who say that that "BR is an easy option" haven't got a scooby-doo on any level. The stress and uncertainty can be astronomical.
But I hope forums like this can help reduce that and smooth a path (if that is the phrase).Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

So true fermi, so true!
Wish I could hibernate for the winter and it all be over - lol!
Yes, this forum is such a great help, it really helps just being able to converse with people in the same boat. There's no way anyone who hasn't been in this situation would have the first idea of the stress involved!0 -
Hi rldebt
Glad that the forum is helping you, I was hoping that Fermi or one of the wise ones would be along to advise. Cheers Fermi.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

I was hoping that Richard or one of the others better on the property side than I am would spot this.
But I think Richard (at least) is off on his Hols this week.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Just a thought, I am writing to my creditors this weekend and the national debtline has some excellent letter templates, so am thinking I could use the one that says "ask your creditors to hold action on your account". That way we may be able to buy a little time as it says about holding action for 28 days. Whether any of them will agree is another matter, but it has to be worth a try doesn't it? Also do you think that we could say that we do not want them to contact us by telephone, only by letter. Don't much fancy getting grief over the phone or jumping everytime the phone rings!0

The NDL letters were written designed by them based on a great deal of experience of the way creditors and collections work. So it's gotta be worth a shot.
I have a telephone "bog off letter" somewhere.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
