Someone else doing my job during furlough, but was furloughed because my job wasn't currently needed

As the Facilities person at my company, I was furloughed a few months ago due to there being no job for me to do as our offices were closed and everyone was working from home. Fair enough I thought.
Recently, I was told that the company has no plans to officially open the offices. But then I read on the company intranet that the offices are being made "Covid secure" for new and other misc employees that are having difficulty working from home, with instructions on how to work while at the office. I found this interesting since this very thing is what Facilities does. My question is then: Are they allowed to this since the whole purpose of my furlough was/is supposedly due my job "not being needed at the moment"? This shows that other people in other departments are doing my job.
Thanks for the input. Much appreciated.

They are allowed to do it, but it looks ominous for the future of your post. On the one hand, you may feel it is wise to keep your head down. On the other hand, if you say nothing, it doesn't look like you are bothered that it seems someone else is doing your job.
EDIT: From your other post it would seem that your furlough pay has been reduced to 80%. That is not a good sign either.0 -
Every function of the organisation still has to operate. Management will have drawn up a plan so as to optimise available resources. No one is indispensable as much as we think we are.shadowfortress said:This shows that other people in other departments are doing my job.0
