Uk Weekend away - household rule

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help as despite googling, I can't find an answer! I have accommodation booked for 14 people in the UK in September. Its a 7 bedroom house with 14 of us going all from different households. Currently from what I understand, the rule is you cannot stay overnight with more than 2 households. In our scenario, people are sharing rooms, bathroom, kitchen etc so it would be against the guidelines. The accommodation has informed me they are covid safe, so we are not able to postpone the trip. Has anyone had a similar scenario or any advice? Thanks

group discussion? Are you all happy to go? What about if you all undertook to socially distance or even self isolate for 14 days beforehand?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. ^^^this. Decide among yourselves, nobody is enforcing it and never have.
I have had builders and plumbers in my house for a week and a half, no masks as I said there is no need. All about what you are comfortable with.0 -
if you all booked and stayed in the same hotel (which hotels are open now) would you still want to go? Agree its a personal decision at this point. ufnortunatley its between 14 people so probably not straightforward. my approach would be those that go go, those who dont, lose their money unless those that do want to absorb the increased costs.0

I'm doing much same. Party of 21 going away to farm in Yorkshire on 8th August - 5 different households from 3 different parts of country. We've all decided to go on the basis we all know we have kept as safe as we possibly can and to our knowledge not been within distance of any confirmed cases. We are confident we can still keep each other safe but enjoy our time together also.
I think it all depends on how you all feel? If the people who are sharing bedrooms are not partners they might not be happy sharing? I think you can get round lots of other situations such as having two people only doing cooking on rota etc. Taking antiseptic sprays to use on taps and surfaces, generally be more aware. The only thing is if anyone is not happy to go then they should be able to back out without quibble (nothing worse than having reluctant people with you) but they can't expect their money back as it will have to come out of their friends pockets.
I hope you have a great time.0 -
Thanks everyone, I was wondering if there was a rule I was missing but it seems like it is our choice. The group is all friends from 14 different households essentially which makes it tricker! Thank you all for your insight

You'll probably be breaking the law, but who knows what the law is anymore, or what it might be next Tuesday? I think there might be an exemption if you go to a castle, but I'm not 100% sure. Either way it is very unlikely to be enforced. You problem is more likely to be handling any fallout among friends, if somebody doesn't want to go. Or is everybody happy to go?0
