They've since subsequently found out and are doing what the authorities would require them to do if you did put in a claim, shut down the account and refund payments/interest paid, so they're basically pre-empting it so you can't add a claim for bit of compo on as well. I know this absolutely wasn't your intention to do it to get a freebie or compensation but you can thank the thousands of people who've put in spurious claims for mis-selling loans and credit for what has happened and how they're reacting.I would be thankful that they're not putting a CIFAS marker on your credit record for the fraud you committed and just let it be, apply for another card this time disclosing your real income and move on.

Yes, you are obliged only to make the minimum payment each month so it is entirely up to you whether to pay the full balance or less. If you decide to change your direct debit, make sure you do so as soon as possible since it takes a surprisingly long time to act on such requests.RubyTuesday10 said:Hi, I've also received this letter, and have in fact posted on here about it. Unfortunately for me, I have mine set up to pay the full balance every month by DD, so I won't have anything on there to get written. It's a shame as I'd just put £350 on it, days before getting the letter. I wonder if they'll let me change my payments to paying the minimum....

Unfortunately I'm not quite brazen enough to change my DD like that🤣.
When I filled in my application, I clearly stated my separate income, which is low, but was still accepted. However, when I search for other cards now, I'm no longer pre-accepted for any, whereas previously I was. I don't care about the card per say as I pay off full balance every month, but I need to improve my credit history, and now it seems I can't.0 -
Which providers have you completed eligibility checkers for so far? (Excluding Vanquis and its associated brands of course) And did you go through one of the generic checkers like MSE or Totally money? Or did you try direct on a number of the card providers own sites?RubyTuesday10 said:Unfortunately I'm not quite brazen enough to change my DD like that🤣.

So you didn't pay it off in full every month?. When you get your new card make sure you spend and pay off in full every month otherwise your just wasting money on interest and not really helping your credit history as much as you could by showing you can't even afford to pay off relatively little amounts of money in full.sweetpea9680 said:When applied i put in my joint income yearly with my husband although my income alone is very low. I didn't quite understand what was what tbh as was first time applying. Needless to say I always paid on time and above the odds to bring it down. I've now applied for a mbna card the same way and been approved instantly..card en route. Im still just shocked but clearly I'm not alone in this with vanquis....thanks people for your advice etc xx0
