Baby scan services seems to be available everywhere, but is the OP medically qualified to set up such a business?  I find it hard to believe that £15k will be sufficient start up funding.

There is no way I'd ever have a scan done by any other than a fully trained and fully qualified NHS professional. Do you have any kind of training in this area? It all sounds a bit ad hoc to me. What about a business plan? I for one would NOT be happy to pay for the services of someone who has no idea what they're doing. Do your expenses cover your intense training? Read this and then have a rethink : https://www.firstencounters.co.uk/news/post/private-ultrasound-scans-why-you-should-always-do-your-research
I honestly do not think you will be able to get funding for this, I really hope not anyway. You could end up killing a foetus. Makes me shudder to think of it.

That is the most awful thing that could happen to parents-in-waiting for their bundle of joy. :(

This one of the strangest threads I have seen on the business forum in all the years I have been coming here.  The OP seems to be treating this busness in the same way as they would treat setting up a sunbed business or buying a burger van.

Unfortunately  there is less regulation setting up operating  an ultrasound  than there is a burger van at least for that you need food safety training for ultrasound  anyone can buy a machine online and start offering the service.
  • I think a lot more due diligence needed yet before funding starts or you could be debt-ridden by the end of the year with no business to show for it.
What are the profit margins, just out of curiosity ?

Your credit score will not be taken into account for finance, your history is what's important here.

I have no experience of them myself but try finding circle, they have a TV maybe you've seen it, research them.

Exactly!! Which is why this is a crazy business idea. I've had children, I've had scans. But only NHS ones. The only ones I'd trust.

To be honest I have never heard of a service like this - and 100% I would never use one!

A Voluson ultrasound machine is £15,000 on Ebay UK. Used, no guarantee, no certificates of compliance, etc.
