Morning all! Sunny here, wowzas! I went to bed quite late last night after some shennanigans. OH developed a really nasty looking rash on his stomach back and head [he's had an itchy head for a couple fo weeks but put it down to the shampoo, or various other things] so I was sufficiently worried get some loratadine and when that didn't work and it started to look really bad, made him fill in the online 111 form, which said book a phone call with a nurse. He had phoned his doctors in the day who said they would only triage the next morning [so I have also told him he needs to move to my doctors which is not bloody miles away ] So when they phoned up, told him to go to a local ish doctor [ must be the coronavirus they have doctors working nights locally now! did not know that] , we drove to the doctors and came back, it was gone three [and the milk had already been delivered!] They gave him a prescription for a strong antihistamine but didn't know what it was so I'll go get that for him in a minute after I've had wake-up tea. He's still alseep at the moment. If it persisits, make appt with own doc etc etc. Superb servce though, can't fault them.I don't know if it's psychosymatic or what but after 4 days of not taking the tablets I actually got out of bed quite normally this morning instead of having to gain momentum and roll myself up and out. So there's that too.Today, no plans, it feels as if I've forgotten I'm supposed to be doing something, but I'm not sure what. I've got it in my head that I want to make a covered porch type area outside the back door after we make the patio [god knows when that'll be, but it had better hurry up because I want my place to sit under neath being sheltered in the winter too
] I might experi-dig a little bit...
TA, yes, good idea! otherwise it'll be wasted in a cupboard! Hope your mouth gets well soon! Gers, those tins usually give me indigestion..Enjoy the jaunt. Scarlet, glad you had a nice holiday! ooooNelski, the terorist is back! huzzah! AOD, the tax thing? I think I'd have torn my hair out at that. It's just incompetence really...hey dumpling, great minds! I ordered some corn stuff online to make that this week [ needed extra masa flour for fajitas so went a bit crazy] , which recipe did you use? Camelot, fresh peas! nom! snoozer, enjoy yorkshire! monna, isn't it always the way? Stuff I used to think was useful or important has proved not to be over the years. I iwsh I could remember that when buying useless objects now!Hey all reading along, hope you're swishing through tarantella Tuesday!

Thanks MONNA - I do try!
I'm a tad less stressed now that there's the 'magic cupboard' - I know... it's a touch pathetic!
I've been having a mental debate with myself about using old crockery - DM has loads! There's one particular everyday set https://www.chinasearch.co.uk/meakin/maori/ which I started to use earlier this year though I've ruined a couple of teacups by using them in the microwave. I remember DM buying this set, think in the early 70s, in our (then) local village. She paid it up, was so pleased when she finally brought it home and used it for her many supper parties. I've come across a little notebook in which she recorded her guests and what she cooked each time as she didn't want to invite the same people or serve them the same food. Does that still happen I wonder?

Well, you coud Gers, but check it's safe to put them in the magic cupboard? I don't know if it still happens. We've had guests so rarely i could tell you what I cooked now.. [ maybe twice?]

Morning all, the sun was shining when I got up but now it's clouding over. I shouldn't complain because at least it's dry after the non-stop rain. Hopefully Derek has the forecast right and it will be good weather for the rest of the week. I have put the battery on charge for the tree lopper/cutter thing as there is still a large branch to come down sometime this week. It's really the wrong time of year to take it down, but it's hanging lower because of the weight of leaves.Yesterday didn't quite go as planned as I couldn't find the frozen bananas, seems the naughty elf had been in the freezer, so a full contents re-jig ensued and I decided that while it was all out on the worktops that I'd make another up-to-date list. I made my cake but made it banana and peanut butter and the peanut butter overpowered the bananas. I don't mind because I can sit happily with just the jar of peanut butter and a spoon
I misjudged the size too and it made rather a large loaf cake, so today I shall portion it up and freeze it before I eat it all ! Today I'll have a tidy around this morning and empty the DW, then this afternoon we are going to DD's to give them an anniversary card and to collect some no longer needed furniture. It will be broken up and the wood will be reused as Mr Fix It is desperate for bits of wood to work with. The last thing he was able to make was a tiny 2" picnic bench and table for DD's and DGD's fairy garden which they made in lockdown. I've never seen the woodpile so devoid of wood.
NMLC glad it was good news about Grandad.Scarlett I'm happy you had a lovely break away in the van.Snoozer good luck to Steve in the competition.TA well done for starting to use your dinner set.Nelski love that you're doing physio cleaning the house, before you do the physio..... that's dedicationMonna are you still in the midst of the boxes or have you made it to safety ?Hugs to all, take care, stay safe and please try to keep well if you can.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently13 -
Morning all
I slept all night !! (with the aid of a sleeping tablet) but it was blissful and I feel so much better today, the Dr is phoning today and I am going to ask him if there is another non addictive tablet he can give me I cannot go for much longer sleeping like I am so hopefully he can help.
Dinner last night was summer in winter chicken which is a firm favorite here, dd cooked which was lovely, I have woken fancying a roast this morning so might pop into the butcher to get a bit of pork.
Quick tidy through this morning and then off to get my nails done as a treat to myself my nail lady is lovely and we always have a good chat.
Scarlet welcome back glad you had a nice time xx
Glad Grandad is on the mend x
Have good days all xx

Seems I've cross posted with a few of you.taff Sorry about Dh and his rash. Perhaps it's something he's eaten that he's suddenly become allergic to ? Hopefully the antihistamines will work. I am glad you are feeling better though and more able to leave your bed in a lady like mannerAlso I've got to ask "what is this magic cupboard of which some of you speak ? " Do I need/want one ?Redruby happy to read that you have managed a good night's sleep. I'm sure all the worries that you have at present are not helping either. I shall send out the sandman again for you tonight. Hugs xnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12

I'm off on a roll now! This morning it was glasses! All the mis-matched tumblers, wine glasses etc housed in the kitchen have been removed and replaced with all the glasses saved "for best" in the dresser! I may as well get use from those as well. A box of champage flutes has joined all the charity shop stuff upstairs. I doubt I shall be hosting any champagne get-togethers any time soon!! I have also been a bit ruthless by getting rid of an ill assortment of ornaments shoved out of sight in the dresser.as well! I still have loads of boxes upstairs full of the tea-sets, glassware, ornaments etc brought from my mum and grandma and don't know what to do with those. Iwill never use them (or even look at them) but can't bring myself to get rid of it all. I once asked my DB if he wanted any of it and he said do you want any of the mountain of stuff we have from wife's mum and auntie, so I took that as a no!
GERS I had to smile at thoughts of your DM keeping notes of what she served at dinner parties so that guests weren't given it a second time. What a lovely picture of days gone by it conjured up. Nowadays it's more likely to be a few bottles of wine and a pizza delivery!.
TAFF I hope DH responds to the anti-hystamine. What a debacle to have in the middle of the night. SNOOZER enjoy your few days up these parts. Hope the weather picks up for you. Today has been a mixed bag of sunshine and rain, with the ever present wind still blowing.
Take care all x
