Jim, my point was flights to and from Spain never stopped. I wasnt arguing anything else.
  • Personally I think this culture people seem to have at the moment of I deserve a holiday or I expect one is ridiculous. There’s more important things to worry about. Feel free to go to Spain but don’t whinge you might need to self isolate afterwards.

Why would you go against FCO advice to go on holiday?
I was just going to say a simular thing. In case people didn’t realise or remember we are very much in the middle of battling the coronavirus which has killed tens of thousands in this country alone. Why would anyone see fit to take a vacation is beyond me.

The Goa case is relevant because whether we are talking about Spain, Goa, Australia, South America or wherever - why risk going abroad at the current moment in time?  All the more so when you run your own business for goodness sake.

Not only that, if the FCO advises against it, you will not be covered by travel insurance so what happens if you need emergency medical care?  You can't just walk (or be carried) in to a hospital and it's free at the point of delivery, like here.
Hospital treatment is still free in any EU country as long as you know what you are doing and have your valid Ehic

Yes, but that only covers emergency care in the local equivalent of an NHS hospital.

It doesn't cover treatment if you’re taken to a private hospital - which you, or someone with you if for example you become seperated, may not be in a position to either choose or communicate.
