Nice areas around Birchwood/Warrington

Will be moving to the Birchwood/Warrington area in September and looking for some recommendations of nice places to look at renting or possibly buying in and around the area. My partner will be working in Birchwood so good access to trains would be useful too.
Knowing areas to avoid looking would be great too, Thank you in advance!

Irlam/ cadishead is in Salford. Irlam railway station serves birchwood every 30 mins. There is glazebrook too but trains stop there less often.0

Birchwood has a website with liftshare schemes on, which may be helpful. I don't know much about trains in the area. Culcheth and Croft are lovely, but expensive. Lymm, Winwick and Penketh are decent areas. Irlam isn't very nice in my opinion.

Thelwall and Grappenhall are both lovely if you like big 1930s semis. Both are also good value for money.
If you like wine bar culture look at Stockton Heath although houses round there are very expensive for what they are, because of the wine bar culture on their doorstep.
If you prefer newer built (00s onwards) houses the area towards Great Sankey has lots to choose from, but avoid buying one downwind of the sewage works!0 -
There is a shuttle bus that runs from Birchwood train station to the industrial offices.0

It will vary a lot depending on your budget, and whether you want urban or semi rural. For train lines Culcheth and Croft would be out unless you are willing to drive to Glazebrook (no buses). Not a lot of rental properties either.
You could also look at Urmston/Flixton (in Trafford area) which are on the Birchwood line. Nice areas with good amenities.
In fact if train access is crucial I'd look a the train line info for stations that go there.

Thank you for all your suggestions, it's definitely helped us as there's not a lot on the market at the moment.
Are there any places we should avoid/be cautious of when looking in or "good" areas to look in Warrington itself (east of the M62)0
