Love holidays cancellation
If I don't get a refund for the flight part do I have a good chance of taking it up with Mastercard ? I mean how can a company expect me to travel against FCO advice and then no get my money back. Its very naughty of Love holidays to put this on me, they should be the ones cancelling it not leaving it to me.
Please advise.

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) has provided an update, advising on the list of countries exempt from travel restrictions from 4th July onwards as they no longer pose a high risk for travellers. Find the full list of exempt countries here. It is still advised against all but essential travel to all other destinations.

Following the latest FCO guidance, we are now cancelling bookings on a case by case basis, based on the destination of travel, flight and hotel availability. If your booking has been cancelled you would have been contacted by email or SMS. Please rest assured, you will not lose any money as a result of cancellations we need to make due to Covid-19.

Yes I have seen that link, clearly says the FCO now advise against travel to the Baleric islands.
Text I got at 21.10 yesterday evening;
The government now advises against all but essential travel to the Canary and Baleric Islands https://www.gove.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain see our FAQs for details. Link to FAQ. Please reply with YES if you still intend to travel or NO if you wish to cancel and we will be in touch to review your options. Please note flight refunds for cancelleations will be subject to the airline policy. It is important you reply soon as possible. If we do not hear from you we will assume you intend to travel.
---- Now I replied NO as soon as I got this at 21.10 yesterday.. I have had no contact from love holidays at all yet and im due to fly tomorrow morning at 6am! Their phone lines say they are on live chat only and the live chat today said its been busy literally all day until about 10 mins ago and it says im number 245 in the queue. If they dont contact me or I dont manage to get through to them before the chat cuts off at 8pm what am i supposed to do? This who situation has not been handled well at all by love holidays, If i goto cancel online it says that as its less than 28 days before I travel I am not entitiled to a penny back! £3500

I know this is of little help now but please, for the love of god, next time book a package holiday with a company that uses its own planes.0

Yes for sure, used love holidays before and no problem but these are strange times. Thats because they are totally at the mercy of third parties to cobble holidays together. As you say, fine normally but when things go wrong....

12 hours till im supposed to fly and still no contact off love holidays and still in their live chat queue system0
