Port Of Wells- Civil Enforcement

Okay sooo, I received a PCN on the 6th of July for my car being parked in the port of wells car park on 24th of June in at 20:31 out at 20:53 the circumstance are “ payment not made in accordance with terms displayed on signage” 🙄 The first letter has been ignored 😬 and now today received a second letter because no payment was made in the 14 days and now so many days left to pay the full amount...  in all honesty not really sure what to do, Been told to ignore them completely (because apparently if you respond you accept the fine or something 🤷🏻‍♀️)  but dunno if that’s the right thing 🤔 .. I’ve read through the newbies post but i don’t really get it 😑 I had a look on their website about appealing it but it was just boxes to put my details in and then submit, nowhere to type anything.. I don’t wanna make the wrong move to be honest, help would be much appreciated 🤣

I'm not sure what you are expecting if you 'just don't get it'. It's a somewhat complicated issue at first pass. It just needs time to let it sink in. There is nothing instant in private parking charge cases. Keep reading and ask when you find something you don't quite understand.

some one has been giving you poor advice ... please tell them to stop and find out why they where so wrong!

As above you will find a a easy template first appeal in the newbies thread, it stands out as it is in blue.

Oh ... and using a phone to browse the site can cause problems.. so please try a laptop/PC

Using advanced will give more options. Do not  read any threads more than a year or so old as they may well have outdated info.

Not asking you to repeat it again here.. I’ve read it over and over. 

The ones I’ve read have all been further Along in the process..  only the letters have been received and there’s been no response to them in this situation..  I just wasn’t 100% sure as when I went onto the actual website on the appeal page it just came up with boxes to enter the details and nothing to type the template so that threw me off And then I thought I was doing something wrong hence why I ended up here.. posting 😬, I also read some things about not looking here beforehand and making mistakes, if I’m honest, don’t want the situation to end up in court don’t want it to go that far. I’m using my phone to as that’s all I have access to right now So might not be helping either lol.

Having filled in the boxes - taking great care not to give away any clues to the driver's identity - hit next (or whatever) to move on to the next screen where you enter your appeal text. The appeal text will be an exact copy of the blue text template appeal you will have already seen in the first post of the NEWBIES thread.

make sure you start at the first page not last

find the blue template and send that first ...

if you dive into random threads it will get confusing ....

and yes

the forum ... sadly is not very phone friendly .. there is nothing we can do about that . Please try and find a frent/ family member who has a laptop / pc to help ..

this can be beat before court ... but court is not that scary ..,. nothing like that pretend Judge Rinder stuff

in today's climate it will be vis phone or video ... the PPC's seam to be more afraid of this than the poor innocent people who have fallen in to the web of private parking scammers ....

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs, and in some cases, cancellation. 

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up later this year,

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these companies, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.
