I was in a similar situation to you.ColinPC said:Credit card - I realise that a chargeback may be on option, but this isn't guaranteed since ANZ is trying to apply their local 'rules' to the situation. Far better if there's a way to quote chapter and verse to ANZ and force their hand into issuing a refund.
Single "non refundable" flight due May AKL to Cook Islands.
Got nowhere with Air Nz CS, their laws are not as strong in favour of the customer as the US and EU ones.
Raised a charge back and it was SUCCESSFUL!
 Go for it!0

UPDATE ... WORTH OTHERS TRYING THE SAME IF HAVING DIFFICULTIES.
I opened this thread in frustration at ANZ. Good news, my problems have all be resolved and I have managed to get FULL REFUNDS on 5 cancelled flights with ANZ - including 3 internal and 2 international flights. Better still, unlike BA and many others, the money was refunded to my credit card within 4 days of the cancellation.
This was achieved due to the brilliant assistance of a couple of ANZ customer service agents on the phone. The were able to cancel and refund the flights, despite the fact that 4 of them are still scheduled, due to the fact that the itineraries had been changed and the Ts&Cs made it possible for customers to cancel.
Dealing with ANZ recently has been a refreshing change to the usual resistance and negativity associated with Covid-19 cancellations, and I strongly urge anyone having problems with them to persevere and ask their agents to seek 'creative' ways of helping you out ... they did with me and they were extremely helpful and accommodating.
Next is a battle with Virgin Atlantic, which could be a nightmare now that they have filed for Chapter 15 bankruptcy protection in New York. Challenging days indeed ...0
