Any recommendations for tile drill bit?

Well, that's what I thought. It's just tungsten carbide after all, although good quality.

Not sure exactly which ones they are. DH ordered them. I just know that they are Bosch. Will let you know. Really hope they work this time!0

These will do the job and come with a handy guide www. screwfix .com/ p/erbauer -diamond-tile-drill-set-4-pcs/11128 (I can't post the direct link because I am a newbie, so delete some of the spaces in the URL) I used these recently on 10mm thick porcelain tiles and was able to get 2 holes out of one of the drill bits and the drill bit still looks in relatively good condition.
Previous to this I also tried similar drill bits to the ones you had mentioned you have used and gave up also as they were useless - even though the description had stated they could be used on porcelain tiles

A wee bit of feedback.
Number 1 bit was made by Heller and broke within about a minute.
Second one was a Bosch and lasted beautifully and did 6 holes no problem and still looks in good nick.0 -
This thread prompts me to ask if an SDS drill is suitable for drilling through tiles - or does it just smash them to bits!?0

Not for precision drilling no If you want to take them off the walls probaby.

Agree with Murmansk, I've drilled tiles using my SDS drill before using a chuck adaptor. Switch it to drill only, no hammer/impact action and it's fine.grumbler said:Murmansk said:This thread prompts me to ask if an SDS drill is suitable for drilling through tilesWithout impacts and with a sharp drill bit - why not? However, I've never seen really sharp SDS drill bits, and to sharpen them you need a special grinding wheel.0
