                    hello,
I wondered if anyone can help/point me in the right direction.
3 yrs ago, I bought the full package (design, install and fit) a fully fitted kitchen from B&Q, on occasion, other people have smelt gas in my kitchen, myself and daughter however did not.

Last week, the smell of gas was very offensive when I walked in after work, a qualified gas engineer came out and found that a washer had not been fitted to my oven at the installation stage, on further examination, I had not received a gas safety certificate for the oven.
contacted B&Q who were very apologetic but have since only offered the cost they had taken for the certificate and nothing else! No offer of the cost of the gas fitter (£150), also, I have suffered headaches over the last 3 years that have been investigated but could find no physical cause for. By the grace of god alone, my daughter, myself and my pets are alive and haven’t been blown up.

Forget compensation for things that might have happened. They didn't. And In your own words, there's no evidence that your headaches were caused by this, either. B&Q don't have to do any more than they already have, if I've understood correctly. You paid for a certificate, didn't get it so they've refunded that cost.tonvic said:hello,

It's poor work by their fitter, and one hopes they have traced it back and addressed it with the person concerned. As for pointing you in the right direction, get it properly fixed and properly certified. That's the obvious direction to take.0

It’s properly fixed and certified, B&Q said they would refund the money it cost for the gas engineer to fix it and refund the cost of the certificate they didn’t issue, the certificate money is on its way but the cost of the fix has been disregarded. That’s what I’m asking, should they pay the cost of the fix as it was installed improperly0

In my opinion, yes they should. You paid for a proper fitting and certification and got neither.0

            thanks for that.
the kitchen does have a 5 year warranty on it.
will ask them again to refund the cost of the engineer, I have already sent them his invoice and report, will chase them up0
