SEISS second Grant

I am a self employed cleaner and received the 1st grant but not sure if I can apply for the 2nd grant.
I am still3 clients down one being critically ill and having to self isolate until atleast the 1st August and I'm not sure  I will ever go back to my others  One of my clients has been great and still paying me my full wage but a few haven't paid me so my profits are down.
I also would like to know if I am able to claim the 2nd grant as even though I am back at some of my jobs and some are still paying me for not going I am still down a few of my jobs and no sign of me going back to them anytime soon. TIA

The criteria for the second grant are the same as the first grant for base eligibility plus that your business must have been adversely affected on or after 14th July because of coronavirus.  From what you say, this is true.  You can still work as well as receive the SEISS grants.

    Thanks
  • My husband claimed the first grant but not sure if he can claim the second. Work has been a bit sporadic,up and down, since March mainly because of building materials he is a sub contractor. He recently turned down some work with a different source other than his usual Contractor and then ended up with no work for a few weeks because Contractor had delays with his client due to the CoVid. My question is, on the Gov site it says .....You must keep evidence to confirm your business was adversely affected at the time you made your claim..... How can you obtain evidence? This is confusing

The business must be adversely affected after 13 July. Make some notes as to why business is less good in the period 14 July to the date of claim (which can be from 17 August) than normal. It may be helpful to compare turnover in that period with turnover for the same period last year, assuming there are no other factors like timing of holiday, although that is not the be all and end all of it.

Why did he turn down work?
