COVID-19 Dismissal

Hi guys,
My partner was working full-time in a luxury retail company from March 2020. She signed her contract on Feb 2020, and should pass her probation in May 2020.
But due to the lockdown, she was told that her probation need to extend till Aug 2020.
Last week, she was told that her contract will terminate immediately as the business not going well.
So may I know what can she do to complaint or file a compensation in this case?

She can't 'file a compensation', but she should be paid whatever notice period is in her contract.

Complaint? Compo? Calm down. She has been employed less than 2 years, your rights are very very limited

There isn't anything she can do I'm afraid assuming she receives notice pay and pay for any holidays accrued but not taken, with under 2 years service there are minimal employment rights unless she thinks it may be due to a protected characteristic.

unfortunately as your partner has been there under two years she has very few rights.
On what basis are you looking to write your complaint? Was she discriminated against or harassed in any way? Or is it that the business, a high end retailer is struggling and needed to make savings?

To correct you. She's been made redundant not dismissed. Two very different events. Unfortunately a sign of the times. Many people are going to find themselves out of work in the months to come.

Sorry to hear that but as others have stated she is being made redundant and with under 2 years service will be given notice but nothing further in this case.  I hope it works out and she finds alternative employment soon.
