Virgin Holidays Question - Not Directly Refund Related!

Hello,
My husband and I are due to be going on a Virgin Holidays package to Cuba in September.  Cuba has just been removed from the FCO "essential travel only" list but it still requires 2 weeks quarantine on returning to the UK.
I happen to know that the hotel that we have booked is not going to open until November.  My question is, can Virgin force me to accept a different hotel *if* the flights are running by then?  We have chosen that hotel for a very specific reason and don't want to end up going if it isn't to that hotel (which it can't be because they are closed!).
It's impossible to get hold of anyone to discuss this with and I am just waiting for them to cancel the holiday (which is really what I want to happen now) but I just want to know where I stand!
I have also discovered that it doesn't look like they are travelling to that particular hotel next year (it isn't showing on their website if you look to book for next year) so a rebooking doesn't look like an option for us.
Any advice is gratefully received.

you can cancel for refund if the change is significant
    their definition of significant is

    a. A change of resort area for the whole or a major part of your holiday,

    b. A change of accommodation to that of a lower official classification for the whole or a major part of your holiday,

    c. A change of UK departure airport (excluding change of London Airports),

    d. A change of outward departure time or overall length of your holiday of twelve or more hours.

If the replacement hotel is of the same or higher standard in the same resort then this would not be classed as a significant change.

Agree with Caz3121 and his last line summary.  I don't however think it is the answer you were hoping for.
