Problems paying in a cheque

My Mum received a small cheque from Santander. The payees are my Dad (deceased), my Mum (executor) and her lawyer as another executor. The estate was wound up a few months ago. My Mum tried paying it in using the ATM at her nearest bank (which is largely self-service) but the machine refused to accept it. Is it likely to be accepted by a cashier or will the cheque have to be reissued by Santander?

She will need to ask to have it reissued.
