Somewhere above the clouds?

My husband and I love cloud watching. We very often point out pictures in clouds and I love seeing the 3d effect of white clouds moving in front of darker clouds.
So, can anyone recommend anywhere in UK where we can possibly drive ABOVE the clouds? Obviously it'll be somewhere higher up looking down, (maybe above a valley?) but, as I don't want us to be a statistic of people being rescued by the mountain rescue team, I'm looking at a safe route to drive with parking and a hotel nearby would be an advantage. I'm looking at possibly the October half-term holidays (just after my husband's birthday!)
It'll be something to look forward to... if we can find somewhere!

Generally in the UK there is nowhere that is above the clouds on a normal day. Even Ben Nevis is not that tall.
Unless someone else knows different....
