I'm selling my house and the buyers' solicitor keeps asking for a building regs certificate for the oil boiler fitted in 2017 as the old one packed up.I don't recall getting one ever, installer not replied to my query yet. It's still in warranty and is registered with the maker, serviced regularly with approved engineers. Is there a solution to this please?

Was it just replacing an old oil boiler with a new one, or was it a completely new system?1

Question for your installer to answer.0

Your boiler technician was very likely to be OFTEC-registered (oil equivalent of GasSafe, formerly CORGI) and if so, would/should have issued you with an OFTEC certificate which is a self-certification for building regs.

Not really relevant. Even a straight swap is notifiable. You could search on the council's building control webpage- if the OFTEC engineer self-certified it should be there. Of course, if you used a non OFTEC plumber........pinkteapot said:Was it just replacing an old oil boiler with a new one, or was it a completely new system?
