Car breakdown cover for 1 week?

Is there such a thing? I'm insured on my mother's car & will be using it for a week, travelling 5hrs each direction to get to my destination. I think breakdown cover would be sensible but does anyone know if there's a way I can get it just for 1 week?

    Probably not worth it considering you can get annual cover for £20-£30. Do a search on the comparison sites.

    Get a policy which covers YOU for ANY vehicle you drive then it's win win + breakdown cover not massively expensive in itself anyway, sometimes you just have to 'drink it in' if you really want peace of mind.

    Does it cover the vehicle, or her personally?

    I'd not even bother. Chances of a well maintained vehicle going bang on a two way 5hr trip are next to nothing.

    I've just this morning had a coil pack fail with no warning. Down from four to two cylinders, zero power, limped home - fortunately only a mile or so.
