sheikhazad said:The manner he showed activeness, how smartly & fast he tried to impress me to transfer money shows, he planned it somehow dishonestly. He lied he is fully booked till October & told me needs to start Working “tomorrow“.
I fell flat in front of his beautiful lies.
Apologies if you are? but your use of the English language is "remarkable"
But here, people do not / should not, usually just hand over in advance, £5650 for a job estimated at £8600?
For a business that started on the 17th march, but had good reviews? and certainly not agreeing to any contractor without doing due diligence?
However. You only agreed to the work 15 days ago, and appear to be constantly sending texts, emails calls etc? Since then.
Basically you are hounding him and after reading your posts, perhaps he is not that keen now on completing the work for you.
Also you state you are nearly bankrupt with £20000 in debt, yet you borrowed the money from a friend to start a renovation project at a £8600 cost? Perhaps some priorities need to be addressed somewhere?
I would have suggested emailing him and apologising for all emails texts etc. Hoping he would have replied and came back Covid permitting to complete your works.
But you have now sent "contract termination notice" so hopefully you can both reach an agreement for monies to be paid back.
If not then as others have suggested it would be time for court etc.
In future pick a long standing reputable local company and do not pay anything until work is completed to your satisfaction!
Good Luck.
