Clydesdale Bank

Good Evening Folks

I have searched this forum all over for something similar to what I am gonna ask now but wasn't able to find anything.
My main bank account is with Lloyds bank. I have been with them for over 6 years. I have recently applied for a personal loan with Clydesdale bank and as part of their underwriting process they asked me for the last 6 months worth of bank statements from my main bank account which is from Lloyds.
With that said, I'd like to ask, Are Clydesdale bank not able to see how much money entered and left my Lloyds bank account for the last 6 months by looking at my credit report?
Them being a bank, I'd think they would be able see it right?
Is it legal to ask for my bank statements?
Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards,
Gilberto

They cannot see your statement from credit report.

They may be able to see your statement through open banking.

It is legal to ask for a copy of your statement.

It's your choice whether to share or not - you need to consider whether it will impact loan application if you don't share.

I am never ceased to be amazed by what people seem to think a credit file does and doesnt show.

Do you want the loan? You can simply refuse to provide the information and your application will fail.
