Gap360 - Only giving credit notes not refunds

Anybody who had a Gap360 holiday had any luck with obtaining a refund rather than a credit note? They have advised my daughter they will not issue her with a refund (around £800 paid to them) for her cancelled trip to Bali as the situation is classed as 'Force Majeure' and therefore as per their terms & conditions, refunds will not be made. It is unlikely she will be able to travel within the next 2 years due to her studies so she will be £800 out of pocket. She has been able to request a refund for her flights as these were booked separately but not for the tour booked directly with Gap360. Any others in the same position and is what they are saying correct?
