Nationwide FlexPlus Insurance cover Spain??

Hi, I have the above insurance (have for years) and booked last week to go to Malaga in August with Jet2. The Nationwide advice page on Coronavirus said that I am covered for coronavirus and that if the FCO state only essential travel then i will be covered for cancellation providing i didnt book after the FCO advice.
Anyhow, when I go onto the 'make a claim' it states "any booking after 16th March is not covered for anything to do with Coronavirus"?. This is contradictory to what is on its main page and on Moneysvingexpert who said Flexplus would cover cancellation for new bookings as long as a FCO hadn't already gave advice not to travel there?

NW have a clause under Specific Exclusions. "Any costs recoverable elsewhere", so that's your first obstacle IF Jet2 have cancelled (they've come out quite well so far on the refunding front), & you must provide evidence of "no refund".
Absolutely correct though, Q&A info makes NO mention of when you booked being relevant, only on the claims pages, but there they also refer to Section 75 & Chargeback, so might be second sticking point you'll be obliged to try (& be refused).
If Jet2 aren't cancelling, I'd put my claim in regardless of what the claims pages state about dates, & put screen shots of the Q&A pages in as part of my supporting evidence for claiming on a July made booking.
I don't think they are entertaining payments for cancellations by customers under the FCO advice clause IF a trip is also cancelled by the trip provider.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -
Now I don't know where abouts in Spain Malaga is but the latest from Jet2 (taken from the website just now) is:
We are still operating holidays to four destinations in Mainland Spain (Costa de Almeria, Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol and Costa Calida), which are open and are located away from areas which have been impacted by increased cases of Covid-19. In light of the updated advice from the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), we are providing customers travelling to these four destinations with a number of options including continuing with their travel as planned, a refund credit note, a fee free amendment, or a refund.
So you can get a refund if Malaga is in one of these areas and if it's not it will be cancelled anyway. To be honest I have found Jet2 great. I had my Gran Canaria March trip fully refunded within 24 hours, my Montenegro May trip was moved from May to October at a favourable price (could have opted for a refund but really wanted to go), my Montenegro trip for October was then cancelled and fully refunded within 10 days. I now have a 2nd attempt at Gran canaria for August 23rd so we will see what happens to that. If I actually manage to get a holiday this year I will be elated.1
