some weeks back it was being called the Dave Portnoy effect across many parts of the American media as with no sports betting (well apart from Czech table tennis ) the founder of a well known sports site turned his attention to the stock market and day trading as the new gambling medium and get rich quick and his social followers etc joined in
I like the comment of the woman who was following rumours on Reddit who doesn't realise that by the time news is on there then anyone who was going to make money from the information has already done so.
And as for the "why would you not?" guy who appears not to have grasped that companies can go bust and never "come back" words fail me.
I once got talking to a day trader in a pub in Manchester. He was living in a rented bedsit in a rough area. He'd previously owned a three bedroom semi in a nice place, but that didn't matter because he knew what he was doing and was going to make all that money back.
