Wow, lots of considerations! ok let me try to clarify as much as I can.
Both me and wife are not EU citizens, have been in the UK for 4,5 years with a pre-settle status. We have ABSOLUTELY NO CONNECTION WITH our employees. I work in IT hence was able to start a new job during lockdown. Have been unemployed for 45 days. Before I was working for 4 years in another IT company. My wife works in a county council as an engineer for almost a year, before she was working for 1 year to another company. I would't say our jobs are at risk.
In the House of Companies one can see the company I'm working for incorporated in 2014 as LTD. However, a new company with same name incorporated in 2016 as LIMITED and dissolved next year. As I said, no connection whatsoever with me or my wife or a family member.
I'm still on probation however we were told this is not an issue, hence we applied.
I think, I have answered everything, if you need more info please do let me know.
Thank you for your help0 -
We are both EU citizens.

As above I think you're getting "employee" and "employer" mixed up, which has caused some confusion. You are employees, the companies you work for are your employers.Dim42 said:We have ABSOLUTELY NO CONNECTION WITH our employees.
Companies House...In the House of Companies
It couldn't have been exactly the same name as an existing company. In any event it seems an odd reason to withdraw an offer.one can see the company I'm working for incorporated in 2014 as LTD. However, a new company with same name incorporated in 2016 as LIMITED and dissolved next year.2 -
Well, that shouldn't have happened, assuming they both had the same name at the same time (you get some confusion occasionally where companies have "swapped" names).Dim42 said:
I assure you is the exact same name. In one case is LTD, in the other case is LIMITED, but the name is the samedavidmcn said:It couldn't have been exactly the same name as an existing company. In any event it seems an odd reason to withdraw an offer.

What I don't understand is why that should have any negative impact on my mortgage?0

If you've only just started a job during lockdown then they'll feel that there's a risk that you could be cut before or at probation.
The other thing is, jobs in the IT industry are extremely at risk at the moment as they can easily be offshored to save costs, which is what companies are looking at doing at the moment as they try to claw back their covid losses.0
