Underpinned home insurance

My house suffered damage from soil heave in 1991 and was subsequently underpinned. There has been no subsequent damage to the building as a result of this problem. My buildings only insurance is now over £400 per annum as only a small number of insurers will cover underpinned buildings. Other home in my area have subsequently suffered similar issues but mine remains solid.
Will insurance companies ever accept that my home is secure from repeated damage from soil heave, enabling me to pay a sensible amount for insurance?

Home Insurance costs have gone up quite a lot anyway. I am paying double what I did 10 years on the same risk.
Get a quote with the same Insurance underwriter as a new customer and see if they quote you a cheaper new customer rate. Often new customers receive 10% discount or more in the first year. But before you accept the new quote and look to cancel the current policy, speak to the Insurers/ brokers. Sometimes they will apply a reduction to the existing policy.
Try Legal & General, as I think they may be able to quote. Go to a large Brokers such as Towergate and they can look into which Insurers will quote and what the process is, Some Insurers will want all of the underpinning works details and a recent structural survey, so possibly not worth pursuing. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
Are there no companies that only ask you to declare underpinning in the last x number of years? I'm sure I've had a policy that stated 25 years (or it might have been no further movement in 25 years). Could have been Aviva or Direct Line maybe.
