Above you will see a forum search box.  Try putting purple bricks in there and you should see previous threads about them.

Why does it matter? If you see a place you want and your offer is accepted, what difference does it make which agent the seller is using?

Many on here say they won't touch a property with PB.

Mind you, maybe that means there will be less interest...

They're probably okay if nothing major goes wrong or needs a lot of chat about.

given how many people have issues just booking a viewing through Purple Bricks we wouldn't touch them. Why would you limit your target audience?

If a house seller is using purple bricks I would never buy it.  Having had queries ignored and not answered would not waste my time with them again.

When buying you don't have much say about which estate agents have been used.

It's when you're selling that you have to do the research. From what I have read and can gather from this forum, PB aren't all that good. But then again, they're probably no worse than any other estate agents.

We had Purple Bricks at the top of our recent chain and our sellers estate agent constantly complained about them not being helpful etc and yet our estate agent never had a problem dealing with them.  There is a certain amount of snobbery and dislike for PB with most EA and I suppose its pot luck if you get a good one or not.  What caused our problem was the solicitors or should I say conveyancers that PB use that cause the problems and are absolute ****.

I've seen an apartment marketed by PB that I really like the look of, price seems good too.

I've sent an enquiry re: length of leasehold and service charge via Rightmove but I'm not hopeful for an answer.  The brochure gives you an option to ask the seller a question so I registered on PB but now it seems to be saying that I can't ask a question unless I have a viewing booked.  What's the point in me booking a viewing if the leasehold/service charges aren't right for me?

I wish agents would just give you the basic information in the first place (not just PB, it seems most EAs don't give this info in the adverts).
  • We’re currently buying through PB. I have direct contact with our seller and the PB agent. No complaints so far.
it wouldn’t put me off a property. Our seller has used a good local solicitor so I can’t see what impact it would have anyway

@mover2020 - that's reassuring, though I believe PB is a franchise so it can sometimes be potluck about the service they provide.  Did you have to book a viewing before you asked the seller questions, or was that not an issue as you viewed first anyway?
