We've received a PCN from National Parking Enforcement Ltd for a car park owned by LCP. My only defence is that we thought it was local authority owned and that parking charges were suspended due to covid. It isn't, they weren't.

The PCN is for 9 minutes.
My thoughts are that the best way to fight it is to send a letter saying that we won't pay as per the No Nonsense approach detailed on the main site.

Any thoughts?

Waste of time following any of the foolish advice issued by mse

Read the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum and use the blue text template to appeal as keeper , no blabbing about who was driving and no foolish thoughts about stating , I am not paying

Download and read the IPC CoP from their website , especially reading the section on grace periods

Bear in mind that it's the registered keeper that appeals this , not you , you have nothing to do with it at the moment , but you can assist the RK. The last thing either of you want is the claimant knowing who was driving

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, and an independent appeals service will be set up,

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

    arrrrghhhhh nonono!  STOP READING THAT.

The main site article is dangerously badly written and we've tried to get it altered so many times!

Read the NEWBIES thread.  Do the template appeal. Win if they try a court claim, but ignore debt demands.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The PCN is for 9 minutes. I was the driver but not the registered keeper.

You could be honest, admit your mistake, pay the charge and move on with your life.

So bad you said it twice, 666?

Luckily, no-one here is that stupid that they pay ex-clamper thugs £100.

Being at a site for NINE minutes is within the minimum grace period.
