Hi, bit of advice as I am confused!
as Spain now as been entered into quarantine on return I am at a bit if a loss at what I am to do.
we are due to fly with easyjet tomorrow ( monday ) and it seems easyjet are still operating the flight. We are staying in a private villa so have booked everything separately and not as a package.
Do we still go as Easyjet have not cancelled?

What happens if we get out there and then easyjet cancels our return flights and we cant return home ?
we have insurance which we purchased before all this covid happened so if we decided/ advised not to go would we be able to claim our money back on the flights / Villa even though The flight is still operating?
thanks in advance

You are between a rock and a hard place.
I doubt you will get refund if you cancel.

You need to check your insurance policy conditions. Section probably called ‘cancellation’ to see what grounds it will cover you if you cancel. Some policies say you can cancel if FCO advise against ‘all travel’ and ‘all but essential travel’ and some don’t give that as grounds for a claim.0

FCO advice is not to travel0

You also need to understand the rules are different between the Spanish mainland and the islands. You need to quarantine if you return from either but the FCO rules on essential travel only applies to the mainland.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Just been mentioned on BBC by Simon Caulder if you dont want to go then EJ (Im sure it was EJ) will give a voucher but no cash refund .0

If you have insurance issued since the start of the Covid pandemic it's highly unlikely to cover you for cancellation for any FCO/Government advice not to travel due to Covid as it's already a known problem.0

Oops, sorry missed the insurance policy date, but the OP still needs to check what it says about pandemics and FCO advice.
If you actually booked before a pandemic was declared you may have better luck with insurance.0
