Hi all

My parents have an old sky box for Freeview. It currently has no card but I believe one can be purchased. They currently get quite a few channels but would any more be added with the addition of a card? It's a single feed connection if that makes any difference?

The channels you can watch as it stands is here:

The addition of a card gets you the right ITV region (which these day is just for the local news anyway), the right BBC One region on 101, your local TV station on 117, 4 Music and Yesterday+1.  You may be able to add more through Other Channels.

Bearing in mind all the BBC regions are on Sky in the 950s and by default without a card everything defaults to London.  Buying a Freesat from Sky card (if they're still available which they may not be now since Sky+HD has been effectively replaced with SkyQ for which you have to send the equipment back anyway) may not be worth it.  Your mileage may vary.

Cheers - I don't suppose there's any way deleting the channels on the TV guide that are subscription only?

you could just set the ‘favourites’ list to include the free channels then use the remote to scroll through those, although the ‘guide’ will show programmes later in the schedule
