You should, at the time of the accident, have exchanged personal and insurance details with the other driver.

Anyway the damage is bad enough that I wouldn't even consider paying out of my own pocket to fix. (Unless I had damaged my own car myself)1 -
You need to phone your insurance company and report the accident, and pass the details on to the person whose car you hit.Your insurers will tell you what you need to do to resolve the damage to your car.1

as I have all ready said on this thread tell your insurer whats happened. they will sort it. its there job.0

Never ceases to amaze me how people think that much damage is in the £100's category, as has been stated that is 4 figures all day long. You will make a claim, get yours sorted properly as well , it's only one claim after all.
Who can guess the car from the paint Colour ?
I'll start with Focus ST or MX5 ?

Your insurance contract will oblige you to report the accident to your insurer, whether or not you intend to claim for the damage to your car.The other party might go via their insurer, or they or a claims firm they use might go to your insurer directly. You can offer to pay out directly, but this kind of damage on a nearly new car is going to be expensive to put right. Also the other driver could pull the scam of accepting direct payment then double-dip claiming against your insurance anyway!

I wonder whether we all missed something here? I noticed the tell-tale missing information in the OP " the car I was driving is quite specialist" but we are not then told what car that is.
By "quite specialist" could it be that the OP means "modified" so they are really uninsured and need to settle outside to avoid fraud marker and / or prosecution and / or driving ban?
If that is not the case and I offended the OP, they need to be aware how keeping things obscure can come across.2
