Last Minute.com Issues

I booked a family holiday to Fuerteventura through last minute.com for August 11th. Jet2 have cancelled the flight and have said they informed Last Minute on July 1st, we need a refund through LM as they were the agent. I have requested a refund through LM they have told me I'm not entitled as the holiday is not cancelled, they have received no communication from Jet2 . There are no flights to Fuerteventura on August 11th from Birmingham Airport.
I'm worried it is going to be a long battle with LM, I have heard so many horror stories recently of people not getting back money from LM. I can't afford to lose £5000,who can? Any advice welcomed.

I’m afraid horror story is likely to be right. lastminute.com told me my return flight was cancelled on 19/3/20 and left me stranded. 

Despite pushing quite hard I haven’t had an offer of any sort from them yet. I’m making some progress in getting a chargeback from my credit card, but that has taken just about as long.

So sorry to hear you were stranded.
I feared that would be the case. I have heard nothing but horror stories, it looks like we have a long hard fight on our hands.
