Holiday accrued before furlough (due to shielding and unable to look for work)

I've just had my final pay slip. As a beginning June I had 4.5 days annual leave accrued when my contract was due to finish.  Whilst I was employed (and before the furlough option) I was asked if I wanted to be paid or take the leave and we agreed I could be paid instead.

However as I was shielding my employer put me on furlough until the end of this month as I couldn't look for work and whilst it didn't cost them anything..

It looks to me that they have paid me 80% of salary for July (as expected) but also for my annual leave that I had accrued priior to furlough. I was on the understanding that this should be at full pay.

Am I right in my thinking? I'm sure I've seen something but the gov.uk website has confused me (I think coz my head isn't in the right space at the moment).

How should I approach my former employer diplomatically about this whilst giving the backup needed?

It should be at 100% however not on all cases it does depend on the letter you were sent and presumably signed. As you were shielding and unable to work, and you were furloughed and not SSP (which tbh they should have done) then ultimately you are better off so not sure it is worth taking further?

It was open to employers to furlough shielding workers. Most holiday pay should be at "normal" rate, which for most people is 100% of pre-furlough wage. Government guidance is here:
    https://www.gov.uk/guidance/holiday-entitlement-and-pay-during-coronavirus-covid-19

It does not specifically say that holiday pay should be at pre-furlough rate, but it also says that holiday pay need not be the same as furlough, unless furlough is 100% of pre-furlough wage.
