Gallagher Bassett

Does anyone have experience with gallagher Bassett?
I'd never heard of them but apparently they're big but also terrible.
I had a car accident at the start of the year and the 3rd party insurer uses gallagher Bassett to handle the injury claim.
They have only recently admitted liability and paid out the excess and now my insurer is at the stage of issuing court letter because they mostly ignore or drag their feet with everything else.
I've never known a straightforward claim take this long to settle.
I doubt they'll want to go to court and lose, so seems they're playing down to the wire.

PI claims are never quick to settle, unless it's an exaggerated one.
Years ago my lawyer had to issue proceedings to get the insurance company to settle it, there's also only a 3 year limitation period for starting court proceedings with PI as an adult.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1
