Gatwick South pick up

I’m very nervous of driving in multi story car parks. Can I pick someone up from the drop off area if they are waiting? Or is there somewhere else? Thanks

You can, but you are not meant to.  

If your passenger is ready and kerb side then you will probably be fine but there is no waiting (parking attendants move you on quickly). The area has several drop-off lanes (three, I recall) so it would be best if your passenger phones you when kerb side and tells you exactly where they are.  Favoured spots might be towards the end of the drop off zones (so far left as they exit the terminal) as the pull in areas at the start of the drop off zones are often busy.

Keep in mind that no flights are currently operating to/from south terminal. All moved to north terminal at this time.

Yeah' make sure you have the right terminal, been there done that.

We always get picked up there by taxi, we phone him when we have our bags and make our way out.

Get the person picking you up to park in the long stay car park, they get 2 hours free. Then catch the shuttle bus to the airport to meet you.
