Hotel shut

I’ve got a holiday booked with Althams travel with the booking through jet2. I’ve joined 2 forums about the hotel as I’m getting no info about what has been changed and what to expect. Now I’ve been informed that the hotel has shut and no date for it opening anytime soon. Most people have been moved to a sister hotel. But when I’ve been in contact with Althams who said they’ve contacted Jet2 about this issue all they said they can’t they can’t comment. I suppose to go in a few weeks and still none the wiser what should I do???

If you could post the name of the hotel someone might be able to throw light on the situation, whether the hotel will be opening and/or changes facilities.

With areas gradually opening and frequent changes of rules, processes and procedures you may just have to wait until closer to departure before Jet2 can confirm how this might impact your holiday. Not ideal I know but they probably have other customers travelling before you who are their priority at the moment.

  • The the hotel is called Eftalia Aqua Resort in Turkey.

What exactly is it you’re worried about?
it sounds very likely you’ll be transferred to the sister hotel and if it’s similar in term of facilities there will be nothing you can do about it (unless there is an exceptional situation such as special needs that you stated up front).
is there an issue with the sister hotel that you are concerned about?
otherwise it sounds like they are taking care of people with a similar facility.

Both Althams and Jet2 Holidays are reputable businesses so rest assured you will not be left without accommodation.

It sounds like the hotel has plans to move guests to their sister hotels and I expect this will happen. Jet2 Holidays are obliged to find you a hotel of the same or higher grade.

Whilst I am sure you would like certainty in where you will be staying I expect the hotel, tour operator and travel agency are all really busy. Jet2 Holidays will I am sure be dealing with thousands of travel disruptions at the moment. Lots of hotels are just now making decisions on whether to open for the remainder of the season or not. It takes time to organise and notify customers with disrupted plans and they will naturally have to prioritise those travelling first.  I am sure you will be contacted in due course.
