Civil Enforcement Ltd.

Options
I've just received a  PCN notice out of the blue from a company called Civil Enforcement, stating I owe £182.00, the letter came without photographic evidence to support their claim, I am totally confused, I tried to contact them directly but the phone number is for a direct payment line only. They stated that if the payment wasn't made then they will take legal action, how can i pay something I know nothing about and without proof?

You owe nothing unless a judge says so.  All your  questions are answered in the newbies thread.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up later this year,

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these companies, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

    Hi!
    First
    - did you read the newbies thread?
    - £182 is not the first letter in the chain, they have added an amount of other made up charges
    - is it called a Letter Before Action by any chance? Does it give you 30 days to respond?
    - have you sent them a SAR - newbies thread!  - yet? That is an obvious step as it forces them to release all data they hold on you
    Its an invoice
    Thats all it is
Thats all they need to send, because its merely an invoice. Its your job to query it and demand more info
At no point let anyone know who drove the car on that day. Unless you are told otherwise, that info must remain private.

The Newbies Sticky, at the top of this board, which you agreed you would read before posting should give you all the basic information on private parking, the various stages of the process and lays-out your options for each.

Helping you put together an effective challenge will be a lot easier once you have had a good read

Why does ANYONE try to phone a scam parking firm ex-clamper, like they are a normal company?

Send them a SAR to get the letters you missed and read the NEWBIES thread and win in court.
