New double-oven needed

Hi all,
We're in need of a new double-oven as we've held onto the aging Diplomat oven that came with the house when we bought it and for about 5 years we haven't had use of the grill for pretty well all of that time - time for a new one!
I've no idea when the oven dates from but I imagine it's pretty old (my parents have a Diplomat oven from around 2005 when they bought their MFI kitchen so I imagine this is the same thing if not older). We've tried to save money by sourcing new grill parts (about £50+ I believe) but to be honest I don't think it's economically viable.
Anyway - I've been looking into brands and found that Bosch and Zanussi seem to be pretty good and for the most part offer 2-year guarantees - these are both from AO & Currys. Our budget is around £500 plus delivery, installation and recycling the old one. I've found a Blomberg from Euronics which seemed suitable and offered a 5-year guarantee but the customer service reviews for Blomberg are terrible - plus the fact that it's made by Beko which puts me off a bit after the problems they've had.
Main specs we're looking for are:
Thanks in advance!

- Built-in double-oven (main oven and grill - presume that's pretty standard across most?)
- Conventional rather than fan, although I've seen many are multi-function these days

- Black or stainless steel colour preferred
Thanks in advance!

I've just bought a place with a Zanussi oven and it's 20yrs old though only used for about 4yrs. It seems pretty good and the instructions are very clear for installation and cooking. I've not used electric before and I find the fans that cool the controls noisy.A neighbour who has been here since the place was built asked if I replaced it with gas could she have it even though it's out of date because they were so much better than the one she has now.Of course companies change but for what it's worth I thought I'd say.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

There is nothing wrong with either of those , both Electrolux ( zanussi, aeg ) or Bosch ( neff, siemens ) produce some decent , mid market, reasonably priced ovens, there are better on the market than those, and there is an awful lot of how to put it nicely - "not so good stuff ". Both of your choices are pretty much the same specs and same price, they normally last, not complicated to work on if ever needed, spare parts widely available and most importantly those ovens are reliable and function well and as they are popular, you can buy them from almost any shop so you can compare prices and service. One thing I'd advice - do not buy from currys if at all possible.1

Seriously, fire a new grill element in it...https://www.elementreplacement.co.uk/diplomat-grilloven-elements-152-c.asp?msclkid=5f0b5751836212cedc0b084b62e0ddcb
If unsure, you'll get the model from the rating plate.
They are generally not difficult to replace assuming suitable hand tools and ability to safely isolate.0 -
Search for "graded" appliances. These are often brand new but have cosmetic imperfections and are sold at discounted prices. They might have a small scratch on the fascia or a tiny dent on the side - which won't even be visible when fitted.
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.2 -
I have had the most horrendous experiences with Blomberg The latest is them not honouring a 3 year guarantee 2 years in
We have been without a fridge for 3 weeks now.
Buy at your peril.
The customer services responses are deigned to tyre you out so that you give up. We bought 3 items and none of them have come without problems.

Shoxt, model of your current oven? Or, height. And it has two separate oven doors?
Why don't you want a fan oven? Generally considered superior?0 -
Why on earth Currys/DSG? Buy any white goods or electronics from JL and you'll get a two year warranty.
Opting for a non-fan oven will greatly reduce your options. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
@Bendy_House @macman this is a 2 year old thread necro'ed by xxyyzz - I suppose that they searched for posts with Blomberg2
