Hi all, i have received a parking fine from UK parking stating i stayed to long in a McDonalds car park (45 minutes is the max) the circumstances around this stay are as follows..... i am a registered type 2 diabetic whilst driving home i started to feel unwell due to a low sugar episode so i parked into McDonalds restaurant had a meal & sugary drink to compensate for my low blood sugars the recommended time from the government & health professionals to start driving again after an episode is 1 hour 45 minutes well above the max staying time but necessary to wait this long. i have appealed to the parking company and got no response from them now i have letters from Debt Recovery Plus asking for £160 on behalf of the client, i also e mailed them to explain the circumstances around this fine, i have now received another letter from DRP saying i have one last chance to pay before they recommend to their client to start court proceedings. Where do i stand on this? i feel i have been penalised for doing the correct thing and following the guidlines set out by DVLA & health professionals
Thanks.
PS DRP clearly haven't bought the debt as their acting on behalf of their client!0 -
Have you read the NEWBIE sticky that tells you all about debt collectors and outlines the whole process of what to do if you receive a speculative invoice (not a fine) and the bit that says start your own thread, where you will get bespoke advice.2
