Hi
Just moving into a new property and looking to get virgin as I saw their wall box on the viewing. I’ve seen deals for 12 and 18 months. It’s a rented property so I know I’m only guaranteed to have it for 12 months. Given virgin isn’t available everywhere, what would happen if we had to move to a new property and virgin wasn’t supplying in the area? Would that class as a frustration of contract and we’d get out penalty free, or would we still have the early repayment charge? Asking because the 18 month deal is better than the 12 month deal.

If you sign up for say 18 months and you move out after 12 months and the new prooerty isn't available to get Virgin then you have to cough up x amount as your breaking the contract.
Ask over on the Virgin Media forums if you like.1 -
Your contract for service is at your address, if you move and Virgin cant supply at your new address, they will charge you any early termination fees applicable1

Had a feeling that may be the case but wanted to double check. Will probably go with the 12 month deal then. Thanks!0

yes if you move out and cant get virgin at your new address you will be charged the early termination charge.
It may be worth working out exactly how much you would pay overall over 12 months including the ETC to see if 18 months or 12 months is cheaper (as the ETC subtracts the VAT and some other charges from your monthly charge to work out what you pay) though i suspect overall the 12 month contract will be cheaper
Don't forget to order through quidco/topcashback as you'll get anything from £100-£200 free cashback depending on the package you take!1
