The link to the photo in the first post. A courtesy car is provided in the event of accident, fire, theft or attempted theft of the vehicle.sheramber said:Ask them to show you where in the policy it says you are not due a courtesy car.
Removal of a cat isn't any of those.0 -
I don't see anywhere that it says "attempted theft of the vehicle". If you're looking at the first sentence on the page it says "when the car is involved in....attempted theft". This was a (successful) theft.daveyjp said:

They will argue that their wording is clearly referring to the vehicle.0

Accepted it doesn't say vehicle it says 'the car'. Theft of components is not an attempted theft of the car.0

car is used at the start of the sentence. But there is no reference at all there for courtesy car. It says that their cover covers theft damage etc.itm2 said:
It doesn't say "theft of..." at all. It just says "theft". And the car/vehicle has been involved in "theft".daveyjp said:Accepted it doesn't say vehicle it says 'the car'. Theft of components is not an attempted theft of the car.0 -
Take it elsewhere you dont need the Cat to come in a Toyota box. Depending on location a garage could have one
tomorrow, or Monday. No need to wait 4 weeks.

Yes I've been phoning around the independent garages. They seem to be able to get hold of aftermarket units (and at substantially lower prices). I'm now investigating what the pitfalls might be with using an aftermarket converter....forgotmyname said:Take it elsewhere you dont need the Cat to come in a Toyota box. >>>"Courtesy car is limited to a small manual hatchback and subject to availability and only provided if your car is repairable"<<
So a Courtesy car is not guaranteed then...Life in the slow lane0
