IRISH FERRIES CANCELLATION POLICY

Hello - I have a similar(ish) problem to others that have posted and wonder if anyone has any advice on what to do. I often miss things that I should know about!
A family wedding I was going to in August was cancelled because of Covid-19 and has been re-arranged for next year. I did consider just going anyway but up until very recently nobody was allowed into Ireland and now I would have to self isolate for 14 days and I was only going for 4 days.
I have had to cancel my booking from UK to Ireland for 01/08/2020 and Irish Ferries are holding a credit of 75% for me to use when I re-book. I think them taking 25% in cancellation fees is horrendous, particularly as it is due to Covid-19 and I asked them if it was their normal process. Has anyone else had any success in getting the 25% included in their carried forward credit?
Any advice/suggestions would be gratefully received.

You got better then they had to give you - as you chose not to travel (regardless of reason) they could have denied you any sort of refund.0

We too are in a similar position. We should have gone on holiday to Ireland in August, accommodation cancelled, husband is a key worker, so limited to time off work and due to everything have decided not to travel but only offered the same as you and prob don’t wish to travel next year due to kids ages etc.
Not issuing a refund is so sad and taking 25% cancellation fee is awful but could understand that more if the 75% was paid back in cash.
Ill keep you posted if I hear any more as have gone back to them0
