Travelling Abroad Advice

Hi, sorry for the very vague title, but I am thinking of going travelling next year if everything is back to normal.
Dont know where, or for how long. I've got a little bit saved, no idea how much it would cost as I dont know where I'd even want to go (probably Europe - as I think I'm too old for a working visa in Australia? I'm 35.)
Has anyone got their own experiences or advice I can go off? I would like to work abroad as like I say I dont exactly have a lot of money.
Is this too late in my life to do this? I've no kids and relationship is pretty much over.
Or am I just having a midlife crisis?  :D
All advice is welcome.

Sorry, but it's not just the title which is vague.  You need to do some research yourself around your own areas of interest.  There's no point in suggesting a yak safari in Mongolia if you don't like walking.  If you are free and effectively single it's certainly not too late to spread your wings.

Travelling and working abroad are very different things. If you have job somewhere you aren't travelling about, you are stuck in one place.
Working in Europe next year is going to be a lot harder as you will have lost your right to work in the EU.

There are various parts of the world where it is very easy to find work teaching English. Without appropriate qualifications, you would scarcely earn enough to cover bed and board there, but at least it would be an interesting experience.

If it's safe to travel I'd get a one way ticket into SE Asia, probably Saigon or Hanoi, basically because Vietnam is probably the best value for money SE Asian destination. Getting round SE Asia overland is easy and inexpensive, so you can, if you wish, move around on a whim.

Getting the right visa(s) will be important, you will need other visas as you travel around the Region, plus your exit flight.

I have heard that Vietnam is really nice from multiple people. They also have very low COViD right now.

Vietnam is currently my favourite country in the world to visit but their borders are still closed for tourism. I was hoping to get back for a third visit later this year but it looks like I will have to put it off until 2021.

As above, what PP says, if you want to go "travelling" rather than working abroad, SE Asia is probably the best part of the world to do in. Costs are low (though Thailand isn't the ultra-cheap country it used to be) and are well-trodden routes around the region, English is spoken everywhere (to varying standards) and it is generally very safe. If I ever had 3-6 months free I'd book that one-way ticket and just follow the wind.
