Gadget cover/phone cover

How easy/simple is it to claim on phone/gadget cover? As if it is going to be a very long winded process, I may as well just buy another phone.

Does anyone know what the process would be on this? As my phone has been going in and out of fully functioning mode for a while now, causing me stress.

Any help on this would be fantastic!

That sounds like a fault... does your insurance cover faults? Many gadget insurance covers accidental damage etc rather than faults.

Assuming your insurance does cover faults you typically get told to send them the item or they may send a courier to collect it. They contact you after inspecting it to confirm cover and what the remedy is going to be (repair, replace etc). You then pay them the excess and they send you back your gadget or they send you monies due less the excess if its unrepairable and they don't do replacements.

Claim fraud is high, people have a tendency of getting very clumsy with their phones shortly after the new model is released and so there can be debates on if the story and the phone match each other... eg dropped the phone off the kitchen table but the phone looks like a steamroller went over it.

Common areas for complaint on accepted claims are receiving reconditioned units as replacement and/or that policies arent "new for old" and so cash settlements are based on 2nd hand values.
