EasyJet flight voucher in euros

I accepted an easyJet flight voucher for a cancelled flight from Mykonos to Gatwick and tried to use the voucher when re booking a return flight to Santorini for next year .When I tried to use the voucher as part payment it was refused because it was in euros!
Has anyone had the same problem ? Am I stuck with a voucher I can not use? They took my card payment in sterling ! Have emailed easyJet but just got an automated reply stating the vouchers must be in same currency as new booking - and have wasted at least 3 hours trying to call them with no joy.

There is an option to change currency once you have a flight in the basket. You could change to EUR and book that way. Not ideal as you may incur currency conversion charges, but you get to use the voucher. It may actually work out cheaper even so depending on the conversion rate Easyjet apply on showing the flights in GBP.

If it was originally a one way flight booking from Mykonos to the UK then the price would have been quoted in euro and then converted to £ by your credit card company.
To get around it you will have to book a one way flight to Santorini (which will be priced in £) and a one way flight back from Santorini which will be priced in euro (which you pay for with your voucher).

Was your original booking paid in GBP or Euro?mickyf27 said:I accepted an easyJet flight voucher for a cancelled flight from Mykonos to Gatwick and tried to use the voucher when re booking a return flight to Santorini for next year .When I tried to use the voucher as part payment it was refused because it was in euros!Has anyone had the same problem ? Thanks for your replies-I went ahead and booked my new flights for next year So the option of booking 2 flights is not now possible. I just feel conned as I did not read the small print first and why can’t they just convert the credit back to sterling?Unless I book another holiday next year using the two flights option the voucher will expire and easyJet keep the money - not right surely !0

You feel conned because you didnt read the terms? Strange definition of the word "con", there.0

I think you know what I mean! Conned is the wrong word I agree-tricked maybe be better as you would not expect wrong currency to be an issue when they could quite easily convert to sterling-do we all read the small print every time we make a booking? I think not0
