Hi all, we put our house on the market this week and have five viewings booked. There is next to nothing on the market near us that would be suitable for us as a next property (small gardens, bad parking etc). We were told of an empty property nearby and were able to
track down the owner as an elderly gentleman. Through a mutual friend I spoke with him and arranged to view the property yesterday and fell in love with it. It needs a lot of work which his children were planning on doing at some point but were delayed by coronavirus. We’ve told him we would be happy to offer on it as is, as a project. He is wanting to get a valuation done but I have a feeling his children might want to clean it out first before getting that done so may delay things. If we were to accept an offer on ours this week what should our next move be? We love the house but are insure how to manage things with it being a private sale?
thank you

Literally all sales are private sales (well 99%) so it's no different. Arrange a mortgage if necessary, surveyors report etc.1

if it's an old house, I would get a more detailed survey according to your preference"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
