Booked Direct Spain Melia Hotel

We booked Ryainair and Melia Tenerife seperate. We were due to fly 27th June, Ryainair cancelled and got refund but Melia are only offering Melia points rewards to use within year. I phoned Melia week before we were due to go who said the hotel was still closed when we were meant to fly. So Although we booked on a non cancellation purchase but if hotel was closed on day we were meant to fly 27th am I entitled to full refund? I have tried to insist I am but they keep saying they've refunded in points but I would prefer the cash refund as if coronavirus isn't away I don't want to go next year either. Please can anyone help me fight with specifics on rights to give them please? Spain as booked direct with hotel in Tenerife.

You need to look at Spanish law and any changes they made to it during Covid for refunds
ETA
Royal Decree Law 11/2020 issued on 31st March allows retailers to issue vouchers instead of refunds. They can be redeemed for cash if unused after one year
