Black horse - 2 arrears being reported

Hi There, I took a PCP deal out and I actually paid half of the car, never missed a payment and gave my voluntary hand over of the car back.
As part of that I have cancelled my direct debit which was £350 a month, and I have now got 2 arrears showing in clearview, however do not see this impact on checkmyfile.

I called them about 1/2 months ago to report this and get this taken off / rectified and made a complaint which was closed on the same day...it has not been since rectified.
The person I called is making the argument my account is not closed as I still owe £100 collection fee, which I have not yet paid because of this issue.
What should I do? I have my statements of all the payments on time to a tee. I'm really pied of about this!

Your post is a bit confusing.  If you still owe money on the account but have not paid it, then it's correct that you're in arrears.

Settle the bill and ask for a goodwill gesture to remove the markers.  You may get lucky, however, the chances are slim.

Never cancel a DD until you're absolutely certain that there are no remaining charges. In fact, there's no need to cancel it at all.

The total arrears is £752, two payments of my PCP.
The £100 collection is outside of the PCP arrangement, yes that is still owed. but the debt is against the two payments of my PCP which actually isn't owed because its all been paid, and I have the statement to prove it.

Then get the collection fee paid ASAP, so as to avoid negative markers for that.

You can then escalate a complaint for the other markers, going to FOS and ICO if needed.

What did they say when you called them 1/2 months ago? You said the complaint was closed on the same day - what did they say at that time?

They said it was the way the "system worked" during this covid times which is crap.
The complaint I made and the resolution i asked for was for the arrears to be removed, which she said she would pass onto the team who would deal with it..

So they didn't agree to remove the arrears markers then. If you withhold your collection fee payment - they might continue to mark your account in arrears.I would get that paid asap - and then deal with the arrears markers separately through a nicely worded letter asking them to remove them as a gesture of goodwill.

Did you pay half of the full value of the car including the balloon payment or just half of the PCP portion of it? For example if the screen price is £10,000 and the balloon payment is £4000 with £6,000 on PCP you wouldn't reach the VT point until you'd repaid £5000, not £3,000 - half of the £6000 which was on PCP as many people mistakenly think it is.
It is half of the total price, including the deposit and balloon payment before you can voluntarily terminate. If you hand the car back before that you still owe the remaining balance until you reach the 50% of total price point.
