Outgoing flight cancelled, return flight still going ahead

Has anyone else had this problem and received any response/refund from EasyJet?
My outgoing flight (24/07) to Turkey has been cancelled, my return flight (11/08) is still going ahead, I have applied for a refund using the online form, both flights were booked as a return journey and therefor under the same booking reference, My query is will my refund apply to both flights or will I need to move my return flight to a later date as I’m not entitled to a refund due to it still going ahead?
Thanks

You are entitled to a refund of the whole booking and easyJet should do that. I'm not familiar with their online form though so not sure if it asks the question or if they just refund it all by default.

they really should have put something on the online form to ask "do you want a refund on all flights on the same booking?" (pre-covid when one leg was cancelled you could manage all that online, keeping, changing or cancelling for refund the unaffected flight)
Some people may want to keep the unaffected flight and book an alternative for the cancelled flight elsewhere so my suspicion, from other posts, is that they will by default refund the cancelled flight only.
I you had phoned (easier said than done I know) you could have requested both at the same time. You may have to call them to clarify that you will not be using the return flight so require a refund for that also
  • Thank you, I rang them a couple of weeks ago (eventually got through after 3 hours on hold), to find out my options, before new flights for next year had been released as the alternative dates were no use due to my daughter starting year 11 and not knowing when exams etc will be, told to hang on and hope for cancellations or change flights once new ones become available but I was (naively) under the impression they would treat the whole booking as one, I guess I’ll have to ring again and pray I get through quicker this time round
